A Look At Our Week:
1. Reading:
• Students began new unit. Theme: Earth, Moon, Sun
• Completed read Aloud: “Galileo’s Journal 1609-1610” by Jeanne K. Pettenati
• Reviewed Genre: Expository Text
• Began and Completed “Sun” by Steve Tomecek
• Vocabulary: bursts, devices, slightly, oval, orbit, tilted, horizon, and solar system.
• Test, Monday May 21, 2012
2. Math:
• Multiplication facts 0-10
• Place Value to the 1,000,000’s
• Decimal places to the hundredths
3. Social Studies/Science:
• Students continue immigration study Chapter 5: Lesson 3- Weathering and Erosion. Students describe and identify the forces that cause weathering and erosion. They analyze how people change the land.
4. Spelling:
• Students began Unit 8. Vocabulary: once, animal, life, enough, and took.
• Discussed spelling concept that some sounds are spelled more than one way.
Reminders & Notices:
• Class Supplies Needed: Tissues, and Clorox Wipes.
• Ellis Island field trip, May 25th. Please make sure your children are on time, as we will be leaving the building at 9:00PM sharp.
• May 21st-25th Spirit Week.

• NJASK testing is over. The students demonstrated what responsible hard workers they are. I would like to thank my students for showing me their best.
