A message from the parents to the parents

The first year at TECCS has shown us how critical parent volunteers are to the success of our school. Every hour we commit helps build the school community and contribute vital resources and support.

There are many opportunities for parents and community members to support their children and school programming. From the daily need of assisting at lunch to the one-off fund raisers such as Kids Night Out, there are endless possibilities that can suit different schedules and interests.  

The Family and School Association coordinates numerous volunteer committees, activities and events in conjunction with the school and Board of Trustees. LUNCH/RECESS: Two hours daily to supervise kids, assist in lunch distribution, and cleanup

SUMMER PAINTING: Multiple sessions throughout the summer to ready new classrooms and touch up existing ones

CLASSROOM PARENT: Establishes emergency phone chain and coordinates classroom and school events with staff and administration

EVENTS: Chaperones, ushers, setup and cleanup for school festivals, fundraisers and other activities

COMMITTEES

•   Fundraising: Organizes events and ongoing programs to raise funds for the school in conjunction with the Board of Trustees

•   Public Relations & Outreach: Builds awareness for TECCS in the community and communicates with other schools and government institutions

•   Programmtss & Assemblies: Organizes assemblies and field trips for our children

•   Events: Organizes special events including scheduling, advertising and securing materials and volunteers required

•   Lunch/Recess: Coordinates volunteers for the daily lunch assistance

•   Print & Publications: Drafts monthly newsletter and other FSA material

•   Technology: Board of Trustees supervised group that provides technology recommendations and support for delivering curriculum and communication tools

•   Facilities: Board supervised group that supports improvement and build-out of school facilities
